It’s nearly time for Breyerfest! I seriously considered going this year and had most of it all planned out. Then time got away from me, prices went up and other things got in the way. Now I am kicking myself.

In the end it’s probably a good thing I’m not going, because work has been, well, bad this summer, and taking a few weekdays off would be out of the question.

But then I had an opportunity to go see The Phantom of the Opera in Spokane (it was amazing and beautiful and the cast was perfect) which may not have happened if I had BF coming up… so yeah. I’m not going to feel too bad because seeing the opera ghost live was literally a dream come true. (now the ultimate would be to see the original on Broadway, but who knows if I can make a NYC trip happen!)

Anyway, even though I have to put Breyerfest off for another year, I’m still looking forward to hearing all about it. I can’t wait to read through blogs and see everyone’s pictures, as well as find out what the surprise model is.

I also want to draw attention to this excellent post by Knight’s Tale Studio – it’s definitely worth a read!

If you’re heading to Kentucky this week, whether it’s to meet friends, watch the performances, show or brave the NPOD…

She takes her NPOD shopping very seriously.

… remember to have FUN, and be respectful and kind and not like my obnoxious rider dolls.

Having fun is what it’s about right? I’ll look forward to reading all about it! 🙂

And once again… I’m not going. Instead, I’ll be reading blogs and lurking on forums and Facebook, looking for photos and all the excited posts over the surprise model, as I do every year.

Someday I will get to Breyerfest. I don’t do crowds and heat (both = grouchy Nichelle) BUT, because it’s Breyerfest, I’d like to put my annoyances aside and experience it just once!

I did shrink the program again this year. I also included some tickets and the buttons, as well as a shopping bag:

So, if you’re headed to Breyerfest this week to meet up with friends…

Shop the CHIN and NPOD…

Meet your favorite guest horses…

Or try to win a ribbon at the live show…

… have fun! Because honestly, that’s what it’s about. 🙂

Breyerfest is right around the corner! Who is going to be there this weekend? I won’t be, so I’m coping with it by being weird again. I am looking forward to seeing pictures though, so remember to bring your camera with you!

And don’t forget to bring your sunglasses and sunscreen. (and water, drink lots and lots of water)

BFglassesMake sure you don’t leave anything important behind…

Especially the ponies!! (if you’re showing, anyway)

I shrunk the Breyerfest program down again this year, and since I put a silly amount of effort into it I’ve decided to upload it.

(If you can, print this at “Actual Size” and not “Fit to Page.”)
To get out of double sided printing, I had to come up with another way to put it together. One way to do this would be to fold it like an accordion:

Then glue the back cover to the last page, blank side to blank side:

You can push the pages into place, adding glue where necessary.

The folds can be cut or left as is:

Another way to put it together would be to cut out the spreads separately:

Then fold and glue into place:

The image has bleeds and trim marks, because 1: I am kind of obsessive about this stuff, and 2: I can’t cut a long straight line with scissors. You can choose to ignore the marks if you don’t care. XD But if you’d like, take a ruler (metal works best) and line it up with the trim marks. Use an exacto blade to slice from mark to mark. (ONLY from mark to mark- to prevent cutting the others off) You’re basically cutting a rectangle out of the paper, and if all goes well you’ll have a teeny program without any annoying white edges! (YAY!)

BFprogram01So yes… if you’re headed to Kentucky this week have FUN!
